While writing this song, I was thinking of all the things
that are happening to our world and I was trying to remind myself how quickly
and contagiously things can change for the better. All it takes is that one
brave individual or that one tiny act to spark the momentum. I dream of a day
when we collectively experience a shift in consciousness – one that puts us in
balance with the earth. I believe it is this shift that will, one day, allow us
each to shed our guilt, fear, and anxieties.
May I always be one of the million
who still believe.

Words and music by Angela Evans

There are people who have started planting gardens in the backyards,
Engineers designing newer houses from the scrapyards,
Buyers who are slowly, becoming more aware,
Of the businesses who share in responsible ways,
There are restaurants who won’t support the scraping of our oceans,
Farmers treating livestock like they’re one of God’s creations,
Soldiers who can understand the innocence and truth,
In the face of every child.
There is still hope, there is still light,
There is still good, in each and everyone,
Even if it is, a long shot,
May I always be,
One of the million,
Who still believe.
There are people finding ways of sharing wealth among all nations,
Doctors seeking out affordable solutions,
Companies who’ve stopped releasing their emissions,
Regardless of Kyoto, regardless of the cost,
There are governments allowing cars to run on other fuels,
Non-partisan words spoken in the public schools,
Children urging parents to seek peace among the races,
Peace among their neighbours and peace within themselves.
There is still hope, there is still light,
There is still good, in each and everyone,
Even if it is, a long shot,
May I always be,
One of the million,
One of the million,
One of the million,
There is still hope, there is still light,
There is still good, in each and everyone,
Even if it is, a long shot,
May I always be,
One of the million,
Who still believe.
